A few days ago we had our 28 week appointment. Around 28 weeks they test you for gestational diabetes. You go in and drink a solution, wait an hour, and then they draw your blood. The solution wasn't that bad, I happened to get lemon lime. The blood drawing on the otherhand was terrible. I have pretty hard veins when it comes to drawing blood. They are usually pretty hard to find. The nurse started with my left arm and of course after moving the needle around couldn't find my vein so she moved to my right arm. She poked me and the same thing happened. Then she started to panic because she only had a five minute window total- to draw my blood, and she kept repeating, "Oh my gosh, you weren't kidding about your veins." This did not make meel feel any better, because I was thinking I was going through this pain for nothing if she couldn't get my blood in time. Then she moved to the top of my left hand. As she wriggled the needle around I became very hot, light headed, and actually thought I was going to vomit. This made her panic even more. She was yelling for a nurse to come bring cold packs and stopped to quick put my feet up. I never have fainted, but I can say it's the first time I ever thought I was going to pass out! At this point she asked if I wanted to try again a different day or if she should try the top of my right hand. Of course my reply was, "Just do it! Quick get it over with!" Thankfully the fourth time was the charm and she got my blood! Jordan couldn't even believe how many times they had to prick me!

Thankfully I passed my glucose test, so I don't have to go through this test again.
At this visit they also checked my fundal height for the first time. They say that your fundal height should match with how many weeks you are. I measured at 30 and since at the time of my apointment I was 29 1/2 weeks she said we were right on track.
Baby's heartbeat is still nice and strong at around 140 beats per minute.
